COMMUNICATIONS

In my role as Farming Communications Officer at Soil Association, I worked on comms for the Innovative Farmers (IF) programme – a project that connects farmers with researchers to conduct on-farm research ‘field labs’ on topics such as intercropping, growing flax for regenerative textiles, and optimum compost management.

A highlight was leading the project/creation of the Field Lab Journal – a 12-page booklet detailing the achievements of the Innovative Farmers programme.

I also used my skills to transform scientific research and farming practices into digestible content to help conventional farmers transition to more nature-friendly farming practices. This included an an interview with Iain Tolhurst MBE on woodchip as a viable alternative to peat, and writing content after attending events such as ORFC and The Agroforestry Show.
